New Sanctuary Restrictions Due to Covid 19

The parish leadership team was just notified that beginning this Sunday, November 15, 2020, due to the covid-19 uptick, in accordance with new directives from the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, St Charles of Brazil Sunday liturgies will be livestream only. Access to the sanctuary will be extremely limited most likely for the rest of the year. We will have ministers only, plus the possibility of two parishioners. We can have no more than ten individuals access the sanctuary for worship. We can no longer meet Monday nights in the sanctuary for prayer as well. We are saddened by the severity of the pandemic. We place the safety of St. Charles of Brazil parishioners at highest priority. The parish leadership team wants to convey the message that the safest thing to do right now is for people to stay home on Sundays and attend liturgy on our YouTube channel. We should stay home, and stay connected. The social distancing guidelines reflect sound science, but we must acknowledge the reality that there is increased risk right now. Everyone's safety can never be completely guaranteed. With that however, anyone who does feels comfortable with the increased risk, and wants to volunteer to support the livestream effort and be put on a rotation list for the possibility of being one of the ten people sometimes attending Sunday liturgy should contact Charlie Ernst. We want to thank and commend St. Charles parishioners for the fantastic way in which we came together and put social distancing into practice so that we could share safe liturgies over this past summer. We will get through this time together and be stronger for it. We are staying in touch and sharing in a new way. The Adult Spirituality team has already implemented some zoom workshops. We've planned more advent zoom workshops and one for the new year, and we will be doing fellowship Friday nights on zoom. Feel free to contact us with ideas! Let's keep the faith. May God bless us as we journey forward. -the SCB Parish Leadership Team
