Special Message for Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter Liturgies

Parish family,

Even though we are physically distanced during this time, let’s accept that as a special spiritual practice that will bring greater focus to our shared worship.  All of our usual services will be offered in person and via livestreaming on our YouTube channel.

We encourage everyone to participate more fully by engaging in the activities below at home.

Palm Sunday - 11:00 am

  • Those at St. Christophers in person will pick up their palms as they come in and be seated. The opening gospel will be read from the back of the church. There will be no procession preceding the Gathering Rite, but we WILL bless all of the palms at that time.

  • Parish Life will distribute palms to those who were unable to attend in person.

Holy Thursday - 7:00 pm

  • It is tradition to RING BELLS during the Gloria.  We encourage you to bring bells to ring at church or ring a bell or bells in your home.

  • It is our liturgical tradition to prepare an “altar of repose” and to move the blessed sacrament there to be held in reserve for use on Good Friday.  We encourage you to prepare such a place.

  • During the Eucharistic Prayer, if you have been blessing your own bread and wine, prepare extra and keep enough in reserve at your “altar of repose” until Friday evening, when it will be used for Communion.

  • We will live stream for an extra hour to allow for Eucharistic Adoration.  We encourage you to spend some time in prayer during this time.

Good Friday - 7:00 pm

  • We will have our traditional Good Friday liturgy.  Please use the blessed bread from Holy Thursday for Communion.

Easter Sunday - 11:00 am

  • Please join in at our usual Sunday Mass time.  Alleluia!

  • If you will be attending in person for our Easter liturgy, we invite you to bring an Easter Flower with you to help decorate the altar. You will be able to take your flower back home with you after mass. We ask that you please arrive 10 minutes early so we can position the flowers before starting the Livestream.
