A message and Thank You from Jared Dixon

Jared Dixon requested that we post this message from him in our News Wire:

Dear Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore,

Thank you for all the work that you do to support Baltimore's LGBTQ+ community. Eight years ago, an angel came into my life by the name of Father Edward, "Skip," Koritzer. His unyielding commitment to ministering to our community blessed so many people, and I know his spirit lives on through your organization. Please accept my $200.00 donation in his memory.

Love,

Jared

Thank you and St. Charles for all of your support. It truly means everything.

Also, Some information regarding the work of the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore:

Ash Wednesday Guidelines for "At Home "

Hello to all,

Below are some guidelines that Mother Monica  shared that you can follow if you plan to be at home this evening.

We are hopeful that weather will permit our celebration of Ash Wednesday liturgy in the sanctuary.  For some of us it will be best to stay at home.  If you are planning to participate in our Ash Wednesday liturgy via Livestream, and would like to prepare your own symbol for the rite of ashes to use at home, feel free to do so.

If you have palm from last year, this would be great, add a few drops of oil to ashes when they are cool.

Ash substitutes can include can include soot from a candle or fireplace, flour, chalk, potting soil.  We should remember that the church uses blessed palms from Palm Sunday to make ashes as a way to because we are offer the praise that we gave Christ on Palm Sunday to be purified.

This year an ash substitute can fulfill the same intention. We will all be participating in this rite of repentance together.

Peace to all

Mother Monica Kennedy

Ash Wednesday Liturgy

We are planning to have an "In-person" Ash Wednesday Liturgy on Wednesday February 17th @ 7 p.m. As with all other liturgies we will also be live streaming the service.

We hope that many of you will plan to attend.

We will still need to limit the number of  people to 25, practice social distancing, wear masks, maintain our contact tracing list and do our pre and post liturgy cleaning.
